BMW 5 Sports

Here is our take on the new 2019 BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle as seen at the LA Auto Show. Back in June BMW launched the 4th generation BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle, giving it an all-new updated look. This model has been super successful as it is a blend of all things Californians desire in a Sports Activity Vehicle.

When you first see the exterior, it requires you to stare for a few seconds. The styling is true BMW. Elegant with a dash of panache. It is not big and bulky instead it looks athletic and ready to take on any driving challenge you give it. Your eye is drawn to the big front grille and LED headlights. As you make your way along the side, your confidence increases as you view the standard 19-inch light-alloy wheels if you feel this is generation X5 is longer you are correct. The wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer giving it a 1.1 increase in length, 2.6 inches in width and its height is increased by 1.0 inch. This all adds to the presence of this classy looking vehicle.

Looks will only get you so far. So, what is under the hood of a BMW X5? In short power, both models start with gas engines beefed up by turbos. The BMW X5 xDrive50i, whose extensively developed V8 unit is making its debut. If a six-cylinder is your preference, then the BMW X5 xDrive40i is the model for you. All models feature the BMW eight-speed Steptronic transmission and the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive.

Upon opening the door to the X5, you are met with the elegance you would expect from BMW. Just a few creature comforts you instantly see are leather seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and 3 row of seats giving it plenty of room. The audio system is provided by Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 20 speakers and 1,500-watt output. We were not able to test out the audio system during our review. The X5 does come with keyless entry FOB and drive assist cameras.

The list of what we liked on the new 2019 BMW X5 could go on and on. If you are going to visit the LA Auto show this year, this is one vehicle we recommend you take a few minutes and view for yourself. Should you get an opportunity to sit in the driver's seat for a moment and tell us what you think?
